- Investors are being reminded that the pain in the property market will be short-lived. Research conducted by PIPA chairman Peter Koulizos found that five years after each of the recessions or economic downturns over that time period, capital city house prices saw a significant increase.

- Will we have an oversupply of units in Sydney? Leigh Warner, JLL’s head of residential research said, “You may have some temporary declines and you may have a buyers’ market for a period, but ultimately it will become a supply and demand issue.” And stressed Sydney would still face a shortage of housing in years to come. While demand had been eased due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a drop-off in construction activity would see any oversupply of units soaked up in the coming years.
